Wedding Cakes

27 August 2010

I love everything about a wedding from the bride and groom, the food, photography, flowers, venue, etc.  However, one of the things that amazes me more is a wedding cake.  Not sure what it is, if it’s the way it’s decorated or the way it tastes or even how it looks.

When it comes to the wedding cakes, the bride and groom normally take their time deciding on the taste, the decorations and the look. They come in all shapes, sizes and color. For the most part, a wedding cake is incorporated into the theme of the wedding.

Take a look at some of the pictures I found.  Be as imaginative as you can.

The Don CeSar Beach Resort

5 July 2010

For those of you who are familiar with the Don CeSar Beach Resort, we all know that it’s one of the most beautiful resorts in Saint Petersburg, Florida.  However for those of you who are not familiar let me give you a little history.

The resort was built in 1926 by Thomas J. Rowe who unveiled plans for his pink palace on the beach, at that time, a 10-story, 312-room luxury hotel with penthouse suites, private baths and a ballroom.  The St. Petersburg Times reported “One of the most ambitious undertakings on the west coast of Florida.”

It’s been named as “the first greatly hostelry to be built directly on the surf of the Gulf of Mexico”.  Today, the Don is a Lowes Hotel with 277 rooms and the recently added Spa Oceana.

Sushi Rock Grill

29 June 2010

This month’s ABC Meeting was held at Sushi Rock Grill, a quaint and amazing sushi restaurant in St. Petersburg, FL.  As many times as I have passed the place, I never noticed it.  As you enter the restaurant, you go through the patio which is set up with tables and chairs.  On each table is small blue vase that accents the colors of the restaurant.  The inside of the restaurant has a small bar area where you can gather with your friends or family. The atmosphere is so friendly and the staff is so attentive to everyone.

Their sushi menu is delicious!!!!  Let me share my favorites with you!  The California Roll, which has crab meat, avocado, cucumber and rice wrapped in a seaweed skin.  There is also The Sushi Rock Grill which is named after the restaurant and is made with tempura tuna, salmon, avocado, mixed greens, and rice wrapped in a seaweed skin with tricolor sauce! Last but not least is The Tampa Roll which is filled with tempura white fish, sliced onion, mayonnaise and rice wrapped in a seaweed skin.

If you have not been to Sushi Rock Grill, you are definitely missing out on some delicious food!!!!

San Patrick 1964 – Pronovias Trunk Show ~ January 15 & 16, 2010

20 January 2010

I met Judy Ferrara, owner of The Dressing Room back in early December,  I called and made an appointment to meet her on a Saturday evening to introduce myself and possibly build a vendor working relationship.

As I entered her boutique, I was greeted with her warmth personality and professionalism.  We sat down and talked about the wedding, event and bridal industry.  She shared with me her many experiences and insight about the bridal industry.  Towards the end of our conversation, I thanked her for taking time out of her busy schedule to meet with me.

As she walked me to the door, she informed me about a trunk bridal show that was going to be held at her boutique.  She stated that if I was interested, I  could assist her with the trunk show and she would teach me a little about the bridal industry. I knew that I was not going to learn it all in one or two days but, I was excited about the opportunity and told her I would be interested in assisting her.

When I got home that evening, I sent her a follow up Thank You note, again for allowing me to introduce myself to her and let her know that I would make myself available for the trunk show.

WOW!!!!!  What an amazing weekend it was for me at The Dressing Room!!  Judy’s expertise, finesse and knowledge with the industry, trend and colors fascinated me.  As brides came in for the San Patrick – Pronovias Trunk Show , I shadowed her with every client.  I learned first hand what a bride is looking for in a dress;  from fabric,  colors,  trend, designers,  etc.

I would like to personally thank Judy Ferrara owner of the Dressing Room, for giving me such a wonderful experience.  I look forward to working with you more in the future.

Gracias Por La Opportunidad!!
